What can I say about Purple HeArts...other than the fact this is some of the best R&B/Soul/Electronica/Experimental music I've heard in a while. This isn't a bias post just because I know these artist, but if you beg to differ, download the music after the jump and listen for yourself!
So have you done it yet? If not, do so now while you read this! Purple HeArts is a collaborative effort between producer Lord Quest and 88 Days member Brendan Philip. I was lucky enough to see both artist work on this project before I even knew what was going to happen with the music. A lot of the influences on this record were from artist like Georgia Anne Muldrow (a.k.a Ms.One) and Dam-Funk. For both artist, this was a left field project in which the both agreed to turn away from their own sounds to do something new and refreshing for themselves. There isn't really much to talk about when it comes to Purple HeArts though, the music speaks for it's self.
Personally though if you ask me, they kind of sound like a clone of another artist by the name of Leon Beine...what do you think?
